One CIAA Charm’tastic Moment for Lincoln (PA) & the City of Baltimore

February 27, 2022 — The “Charm’tastic Mile” of Baltimore (Love That 1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. R&B Icon Legend Luther Vandross years ago recorded the song “One Shining Moment” for the NCAA Tournament that has become an anthem on the Monday Night of the National Championship game. The song is played as highlights of the entire tournament is shown all the way to the crowning of the NCAA Champion.

The Lincoln (PA) Lions roared to the 2022 CIAA Championship defeating a game Elizabeth City 67–52 to capture its first-ever CIAA Women’s Championship. The ball was tipped, 4-quarters & 40 minutes later the Lady Lions celebrated their “CIAA Charm’tastic Moment’’ here in Baltimore at Royal Farms Arena. It was the first-ever “Cut the Nets Saturday’’ in Bmore. In their press conference first-year coach Janice Washington talked about the team’s journey to winning the title, the contributions from all the players and dedicating the win to the memory of the late PG DeAshia Young.

CIAA Player of the Year Bryanna Brown was named MVP of the tournament after scoring 28 points and collecting 6 rebounds. Coach Washington was asked about her stay in Charm City. She replied “It’s been a wonderful stay in Baltimore for the CIAA Tournament. I haven’t been here in a while. Lincoln (PA) is not that far away for our fans to come to Charm City, and we are looking forward to coming back next year for the 2023 CIAA Tournament”.

The CIAA Tourney in Bmore created a buzz around town for the 5-days of the event. It was “CIAA Happening” around the city. Hotels and restaurants saw fans, CIAA Associates and Alumni members all week long. The Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor was the Lincoln headquarters with employees wearing Lincoln t-shirts and CIAA buttons to show their support of the event. The Hyatt Regency is just steps away on a fast-break from the Inner Harbor & The “Charm’tastic Mile”.

Basketball fans and citizens are already talking about the 2023 CIAA Tournament. Just like they say in sports, “Wait til Next Year”.
